Most of the positions in the PMO are not directly recruited. Rather, more than 90 percent of the officers are deputed from other government departments. All pay in the PMO adheres to the 7th Pay Commission’s Pay Matrix, maintaining transparency and consistency in government roles.
Benefits and Allowances
In addition to basic salary, PMO staff enjoy numerous allowances. The House Rent Allowance (HRA) is one such major one, as the PMO is located in Delhi—put under the highest slab of HRA, normally around 27 percent of basic pay. The staff also enjoy Transport Allowance (TA) for government business travel costs and other government-sponsored facilities like medical and pension.
