JSSC Announces 1,733 Jail Warder Posts. There’s good news for young people dreaming of a government job in Jharkhand. The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has begun the recruitment process for over 1,700 Jail Warder (Kakshpal) positions. Both boys and girls who have passed the 10th standard can apply. The application process began on November 7, 2025, and candidates can apply online at jssc.jharkhand.gov.in until December 8, 2025.
In fact, there are few opportunities for young people to apply for government jobs, although the state is currently experiencing a surge in recruitment. Consequently, the JSSC has opened applications for over 1,700 Jail Warder (Kakshpal) positions for eligible candidates.

Total Positions and Departments
This recruitment drive will fill a total of 1,733 positions in the Home, Prisons, and Disaster Management Department, including 1,634 male and 64 female warder positions. Additionally, 35 positions will be filled through backlog vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria
For Jail Warder positions, candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a central or state government-recognised institution.
Physical Eligibility (for male candidates):
General/EWS/OBC/OBC male candidates – Height 160 cm, chest 81 to 86 cm (expanded)
SC/ST male candidates – Height 155 cm, chest 79 to 84 cm (expanded)
For female candidates:
Women from all categories must have a minimum height of 148 cm.
Physical Test and Running (Physical Test)
As part of the selection process, candidates will have to undergo a Physical Test (PET) after the written examination.
Male candidates must complete a 1600-meter run in 6 minutes.
Female candidates must complete a 1600-meter run in 10 minutes.
Candidates who pass this test will be called for document verification.
Salary Structure
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 under the Level-2 pay scale. They will also receive all the perks and benefits of a government job.

- For SC/ST candidates: ₹50
- The examination fee will be paid online only.
