Weather Warning – May 25: Alerts regarding severe heat and heatwaves are currently in effect across almost all states of North India. For several days now, people have been enduring the onslaught of a heatwave. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in certain states.
According to the latest bulletin from the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Kerala, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, and parts of the Northeast and adjoining East India over the next 4–5 days. Conversely, the Department has indicated that severe heatwave conditions are likely to persist across Central and Northwest India for the next 7 days. Maximum temperatures are also expected to see a decline starting May 29. So, let’s take a look at what the weather holds for the coming days.
Weather in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura?
According to the Meteorological Department, an alert for heavy rainfall at isolated places has been issued for Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on May 25, 29, and 30.
Weather in Arunachal Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has also forecast the possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh on May 24 and 25.
Weather in Assam and Meghalaya?
The Meteorological Department has indicated a likelihood of heavy rainfall in Assam and Meghalaya from May 25 to May 29.

Weather in Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep
The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep between May 24 and May 28.
Weather in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry
Alerts regarding lightning and strong winds have been issued for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal for May 24–28, and for Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema for May 24–27.
Telangana Weather
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for Telangana, predicting light to moderate rain—occurring at isolated or scattered locations—accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds between May 24 and May 30.
Sikkim Weather
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds, is likely in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between May 24 and May 26.
Jharkhand and Odisha Weather
The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds, in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha between May 24 and May 30.
Bihar Weather
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, in Bihar between May 24 and May 28.
Rain Warning for These States
– According to the Meteorological Department, scattered light to moderate rain—accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds—is likely in Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on May 25 and during the period of May 28–30; and in Uttarakhand on May 24, 25, 29, and 30.
– Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds, is likely in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Western Uttar Pradesh between May 28 and 30; in Eastern Uttar Pradesh between May 25 and 29; and in Rajasthan on May 24 and 30.
– The possibility of strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms has been indicated for Eastern Uttar Pradesh on May 28 and 29, and for Western Uttar Pradesh on May 29 and 30.
– Isolated hailstorms are likely to occur in Himachal Pradesh on May 29.
