GATE 2026 Notification Details. Engineering and science students who want to get admission in the country’s big institute for higher education, then they will have to take the GATE exam, which is conducted every year. For 2026. IIT Guwahati has released the official notification of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. This includes the new GATE paper (XE-I) syllabus, exam dates, eligibility, documents and other details. Candidates will be able to apply from 25 August 2025, and the last date will be 25 September 2025.

GATE 2026: Date from exam to result

IIT Guwahati has said in the official notification of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) that the exam will be conducted on 7, 8, 14 and 15 February 2026. The exam will be held in two shifts. The first shift is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the second shift is from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

So the candidates who have applied will be able to download the admit card from January 2, 2026. The scorecard will be available from 27 March to 31 May 2026.

GATE 2026: New paper included

This year, a new paper on Energy Science has been added under Engineering Science (XE) in GATE. However, the total number of exam papers will remain 30 only. The exam will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) as before.

GATE 2026 Application Form Process

If any candidate wants to apply for GATE 2026, then candidates will be able to apply from 25 August 2025, and the last date will be 25 September 2025.   • On completion of registration, candidates will receive a GATE enrollment ID and password.
  • Fill in the details and upload documents as per the specifications.
  • Now pay the application fee as per the category
  • Submit the form and take a printout of it for future use
