BSSC Field Assistant Recruitment: Aspirants searching for government employment in Bihar now have a new chance with the Bihar Staff Selection Commission. BSSC has put out a notification for more than 200 positions in the agricultural department under the Directorate of Agriculture. The process of recruitment will soon start, and interested candidates can apply online via the official website.
Field Assistant Vacancies and Reservation
Bihar Staff Selection Commission has released 201 posts for Field Assistant (Area Assistant) belonging to the agriculture department of Directorate of Agriculture. There are 67 posts reserved for women. In category-wise allotment, 79 posts are general, 35 for SC, 2 for ST, 37 for MBC, 21 for BC, 7 for women belonging to backward classes, and 20 posts for EBC candidates.
Eligibility and Educational Qualification
In order to submit an application for these positions, one must have passed ISC or possess a diploma in agriculture from a recognized university or institution. Any other qualification shall not be used as an equivalent for this notice.
Age Limit for Candidates
The applicants should be 18 years or above. The age limit for general category males is 37 years. For general category females, BC, and OBC (male and female), the age limit is 40 years. For SC and ST candidates of both sexes, the age limit is 42 years.
Application Dates and Fees
The online application procedure will be from 25 April 2025 to 23 May 2025. The fee can be submitted until 21 May 2025. The application fee is ₹540 for male candidates from the general, BC, and EBC categories and for all other candidates from outside Bihar. The fee for SC/ST permanent residents of Bihar is ₹135. The fee for women belonging to Bihar and differently-abled applicants of all categories is the same.
Selection Process and Qualifying Marks
The selection will be on two levels: a preliminary exam and the main exam. The qualifying marks differ according to category. For unreserved, it is 40%. For backward classes, it is 36.5%, for EBC and SC/ST, it is 34%, and for women and all differently-abled candidates, the qualifying percentage is 32%.
Pay Scale and Grade Pay
Those shortlisted for Field Assistant will be assigned to Level-2 of the pay scale. The starting basic pay range is ₹5200 to ₹20200 and a grade pay of ₹1900. It provides a constant income for anyone looking for a secure government career.
