Weather Forecast: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for several states across the country. A red alert, the highest level of rain alert, has been issued. The weather has taken a turn for the worse. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in South India. The Meteorological Department predicts that a red alert for torrential rain has been issued for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. In the coming days, heavy rain is expected in Kerala, coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for all these areas.

No rain warning has been issued for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. However, the pollution situation in Delhi-NCR is terrible. According to the Meteorological Department, dry weather may bring mild heat. Minimum temperatures are expected to drop from the second day of Diwali. The IMD has predicted a cold front from October 21st to 22nd. Due to Diwali fireworks, pollution haze may engulf several districts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Agra, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida.
