New Delhi: After suffering a setback from Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav appears to be in action. Amid the political tussle, the Grand Alliance has begun seat-sharing negotiations. The RJD has also initiated the process of distributing tickets to its candidates.
As soon as party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav returned to Patna from Delhi, a large crowd of candidates and supporters gathered at his residence at 10 Circular Road. Candidates have been camping outside the party office since morning, hoping for tickets.
The crowd was so large that chaos sometimes ensued. Sources indicate that several leaders were informed of their ticket availability by phone from party headquarters. Following this, candidates arrived at the party office to receive the official symbol.

According to sources, some prominent names are included among the leaders who have been given tickets. These include Sunil Singh, who left the JDU and joined the RJD, and Narendra Kumar Singh, alias Bogo, a multiple-time MLA from Matihani. Bogo has previously won elections twice on a JDU ticket. Several sitting party MLAs have also been given a second chance.
Leaders like Bhai Virendra, Chandrashekhar Yadav (and Israel Mansoori (Kanti)) were also given tickets on Monday. They were seen waving the party symbol outside Lalu Prasad’s residence, expressing their joy at being nominated. It was not immediately clear how many candidates the RJD gave tickets to on Monday. Political circles are buzzing that the RJD took the initiative to distribute tickets due to the delay in the Grand Alliance’s seat-sharing process.
Nominations for the final phase have also begun.
The second phase of nominations for the Bihar Assembly elections has begun. The nomination process for the last 122 seats will continue. Only four days remain for the first phase of nominations.
In this context, the RJD’s initiation of ticket distribution indicates that the party is now preparing to enter the electoral fray without delay. The first phase of voting for the Bihar Assembly elections is scheduled for November 6, 2025. The second phase will be held on November 11, and the counting of votes will take place on November 14, 2025.
