New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi has reached China after more than seven years. This visit of PM Narendra Modi to China is considered very important amid tariff tension with America. Along with this, the world is eagerly waiting for the meeting of PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Anyway, PM Narendra Modi has reached China mainly to participate in the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on 31 August and 1 September. America is also keeping an eye on this visit.
Meeting with Xi Jinping
On Sunday, i.e. 31 August, PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold talks. This has become even more important in view of the tariff dispute with Washington, which has affected almost all the major economies around the world.
In this meeting, PM Modi and Xi will take stock of India-China economic relations and discuss steps to further normalise relations, which have come under severe strain after the East Ladakh border dispute. The PM has reached this Chinese city from Japan in the second and final leg of his two-nation visit.
PM Modi can also hold bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and many other leaders apart from the summit. Before he visited Tianjin, PM Modi said that it is important for India and China to work together to bring stability to the world economic system.
In an interview with Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun, PM Modi said that stable, predictable and cordial bilateral relations between India and China can have a positive impact on regional and global peace and prosperity.
