Monsoon Alert: The Met Department has issued an alert for heavy rains in several states of the country for the next 7 days. According to the latest bulletin of the Met Department, the northern extent of the monsoon extends from 18°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18°N/70°E, Harnai, Solapur, Hyderabad, Bhadrachalam, Koraput, Phulbani, Ranchi, Jamufar, Muzaffar and 283°N/E. Rain warning in these states
The weather forecast indicates that there may be isolated rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad during June 16-17. Besides, an alert has been issued for rain in Uttarakhand during June 16-22. Meanwhile, an alert has been issued in view of rains in Himachal Pradesh during June 19-22. Rain is likely in parts of eastern Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab and western Rajasthan during June 16-22, the IMD said.
Besides, similar weather will prevail in western Uttar Pradesh during June 17-19 and June 22. The Met Department said that during June 18-22, there may be isolated rains in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad. Storms, lightning, and strong winds (40-50 kmph, increasing to 60 kmph) are expected in these states.

Heavy rain likely in Arunachal Pradesh

Rajasthan weather
According to the Met Department, an alert has been issued for rain in several districts, including Jaipur, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Bundi and Alwar. Strong winds of 60 to 65 km/h are also expected during this period.
