India Stops Water Flow to Pakistan After Pahalgam Attack:- After the Pahalgam attack, India suddenly came into action mode. The Indian government has now given another big blow to Pakistan. By stopping the water flow at Baglihar and Salal hydroelectric projects on the Chenab river, India has indicated to Pakistan that it will use every drop of water as required.
After suspending the Indus Water Treaty, India has stopped the water from going towards Pakistan by closing all the gates of the Baglihar and Salal dams built on the Chenab River. However, water is being released to run turbines to generate electricity at the dam. According to the information, more water has accumulated in the mountains after continuous rains in the past few days. During that time, many gates of Salar Dam were opened, but now, once again, the government has stopped the water from going towards Pakistan.
At the same time, the flow of the Chenab River has reduced considerably since the gates of the Baglihar dam were closed in Ramban. Experts say the reduction in Chenab water will hurt Pakistan’s agriculture and environment. According to locals, the river water level used to reach 25-30 feet, but now it flows with barely 2 feet of water.
