Monsoon Update – Dark Clouds Gather, Heavy Rain Warning Issued for 10 States

Monsoon Alert: The weather is once again changing, bringing rain and strong winds to other places. Temperatures are also fluctuating. In Himachal Pradesh, snowfall in the hills early in the morning brought temperatures below freezing.

Rain Warning in These States

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for 10 states across the country. The IMD has issued a rain warning for Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. Rain warnings have also been issued for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Tamil Nadu.

The IMD has issued a rain and snowfall alert for various parts of Himachal Pradesh on February 18 and for Uttarakhand on February 18 and 19. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds of up to 30 to 40 kilometres per hour are expected in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands until February 18.

Thunderstorm and lightning warnings have also been issued for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan on February 17 and 18. An alert for lightning and thunderstorms has also been issued for Madhya Pradesh on February 18.

Rain alerts have also been issued for several parts of South India, southern Tamil Nadu, and Kerala on February 21 and 22. Heat may increase in many parts of coastal Karnataka.

Heat levels rise in Delhi.

According to the Meteorological Department, heat levels are increasing in the capital,l Delhi, with the same forecast for the future. Yesterday, Monday, Delhi recorded its hottest day of the year so far. The city’s base station, Safdarjung Observatory, recorded a maximum temperature of 31.6 degrees Celsius, 7.2 degrees above normal. A sharp increase of 3.1 degrees Celsius is expected in the next 24 hours.

What will the weather in Delhi look like next?

The Meteorological Department has issued a startling warning regarding Delhi’s weather. The minimum temperature is expected to rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. The weather is unlikely to change significantly now. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain well above normal for the next seven days. An alert has been issued for mainly clear skies on February 17, 19, 20, 21, and 22. Clouds are expected in the afternoon or evening on February 17. Generally cloudy skies are expected on February 18.
