Honda CBR650R CB650R Discontinued: Japanese giant Honda has completely discontinued its most popular duo, the CBR650R and CB650R, as well as the adventurous X-ADV, from the Indian market, causing a major stir among premium bike enthusiasts. After their strong rebirth in January 2025, this sudden decision has proved to be a complete blow to the elite bikers, as these magical machines have been successfully removed from the official website as well. However, this could be a part of Honda’s successful and strong strategy of bringing limited units to India and completely closing bookings as soon as the stock is exhausted, which is a strong indication of a successful journey in the future.
Game of Limited Allocation

Honda India has a long-standing tradition of bringing a successful ‘fixed allocation’ (or fixed allocation) of its premium and luxury bikes to India, ensuring a strong presence on the roads. Once the allocated units for India are successfully sold, the company magically removes these powerful players from its official website, as previously seen with the powerful CBR1000RR-R SP and Rebel 500.
This doesn’t mean these bikes will never return, but it’s likely that these powerful machines will once again dominate the roads in the successful allocation cycle of 2027. This successful strategy ensures that these bikes maintain strong demand and high value in the market, providing a strong and solid identity for the Honda brand.
Honda 650 Duo and X-ADV
The discontinuation of these models has created a significant void in the luxury market, as there’s no real replacement for their magical performance. Before their departure, the Honda CB650R (E-Clutch) commanded a respectable ex-showroom price of around ₹9.60 lakh, while its faired sibling, the CBR650R, commanded a robust ₹10.40 lakh.

Furthermore, the powerful X-ADV 750 maxi-scooter’s final price tag of ₹11.90 lakh was successfully established, making it a true luxury ride. Following the successful implementation of GST 2.0, these powerful machines saw a dramatic price increase, with the CBR650R reaching ₹11.16 lakh, yet wealthy customers snapped it up with a bang, successfully clearing out stocks.
The Magic of the Inline-4 and the E-Clutch
Honda’s 650 series is renowned worldwide for its magical smoothness and powerful inline-4 cylinder engine, which creates mesmerizing music on the roads. The magical power of 94 bhp and the robust torque of 63 Nm made these bikes truly the kings of the road, making every ride memorable.
The most powerful and successful feature was Honda’s new magical E-Clutch technology, which enabled gear shifting without the clutch lever, magically enhancing the pleasure of elite riding. The 745cc parallel-twin engine and 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) of the X-ADV 750 made it a successful and magical companion for both on-road and rugged off-roading, which successfully revolutionized the maxi-scooter segment.
