Madhya Pradesh Monsoon Forecast: Most areas of Madhya Pradesh are currently affected by the cold wave. Children, young people, and the elderly are all suffering. Fog brings life to a standstill in the northern region

In the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh, fog has completely brought life to a standstill. Driving is dangerous, not only for motorcycles but also for larger vehicles. Dense fog continues to affect the Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, and Rewa divisions.

On Thursday morning, dense fog covered Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, and Rewa, where people are forced to travel with their headlights on even during the day. ​​Light to dense fog is also expected in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Raisen, Sehore, Shajapur, and Guna, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

Besides these, light fog may be recorded in several districts, ts including Rajgarh, Ratlam, and Mandla. Rail services are also being affected by the dense fog. Several trains are running late. Trains heading towards Delhi, Indore, and Ujjain are also running late. The Malwa Express, Jhelum Express, and Sachkhand Express are the most affected. Kalyanpur and Karaundi are the coldest areas.

Madhya Pradesh recorded its lowest temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Kalyanpur in Shahdol recorded 4.8 degrees Celsius, and Karaundi in Katni recorded 4.9 degrees Celsius. In Rewa, the minimum temperature was 5.8 degrees Celsius. Mandsaur and Chitrakoot recorded 6.1 degrees, Khajuraho 6.2 degrees, and Umaria 6.8 degrees Celsius.

Datia and Mandla also recorded temperatures around 7 degrees Celsius. Besides these, Rajgarh and Naogaon recorded 7.2 degrees, Pachmarhi 7.8 degrees, and Shivpuri 8 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Damoh and Sidhi recorded temperatures around 9 degrees, while Raisen and Sheopur recorded 9.4 degrees Celsius.

Among the major cities of the state, Gwalior was the coldest, with a minimum temperature of 7.1 degrees Celsius. Bhopal recorded 9.8 degrees, Indore 10.2 degrees, Jabalpur 10 degrees, and Ujjain 11.2 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has not predicted a cold wave in any part of the state on Thursday. However, this season has witnessed record-breaking cold. The winter in MP has broken several old records. November saw the coldest temperatures in the last 84 years.

A 25-year-old record was broken in December. January is seeing the effects of cold and dense fog. In Bhopal, the record of the last 10 years has been completely broken. According to experts, the minimum temperature in several parts of the state is likely to reach near zero in January. Strong cold winds and cold wave conditions are appearing frequently.
