Though the final prices will be announced at the event, rumored reports indicate that the OnePlus Nord 5 will begin at Rs 31,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model, rising to Rs 37,999 for more configurations. A Rs 2,000 discount by the bank may reduce the effective prices to Rs 29,999, Rs 32,999, and Rs 35,999, respectively. The Nord 4 began from Rs 29,999, comparatively. The Nord CE 5 will retail for approximately Rs 25,000, keeping in line with the brand’s approach of delivering value-for-money phones at the mid-range segment.
OnePlus Nord 5 Specifications and Features
OnePlus Nord 5 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, a marked upgrade from the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 that powers the Nord 4. It features a 50MP Sony LYT-700 main camera with OIS, an 8MP backup camera, and a 50MP JN5 selfie camera with autofocus. There is support for a 144Hz frame rate and a sophisticated 7,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system for gaming enthusiasts. The phone has a 6.83-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen and measures 211g. The battery, though, is downrated to 5,200mAh from Nord 4’s 5,500mAh, but it still retains 80W fast charging.
Nord CE 5: Big Battery, Budget Oriented
Nord CE 5 is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset and is equipped with as much as 12GB LPDDR5x RAM. It is said to have a score of more than 1.4 million points on AnTuTu and has support for 120fps gaming. The largest feature of the phone is its gargantuan 7,100mAh battery, which is said to last up to 2.5 days on a single charge. The phone also has a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, and a 16MP front camera. It will be in Black Infinity and Marble Mist colors.
Verdict: A Promising Upgrade for OnePlus Fans
The OnePlus Nord 5 series appears to bring significant enhancements in performance, design, and battery life. With good pricing and top-of-the-line features, both the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 are likely to be good bets below Rs 40,000.
