Nothing Headphone 1: Nothing is set to join the over-ear headphone fray with its debut product, the Nothing Headphone 1. The full spec sheet has now been leaked before the scheduled announcement on July 1, presenting us with an in-depth look at what this fashionable audio device will bring. The leak is courtesy of Android Headlines and follows previous confirmation by Nothing that the launch would happen this summer.
Large Design with Special Build
The Nothing Headphone 1 is bigger than the run-of-the-mill headset, at 173.85 x 78 x 189.25 mm and 329 grams in weight. Even the carry case is large at 220 x 220 x 52 mm and 264 grams in weight. This indicates a high-end, heavy-duty build that focuses on durability and size over portability.
Powerful 40mm Drivers Tuned by KEF
The headphones feature 40mm dynamic drivers with a 16-ohm impedance and a PU diaphragm layered with nickel coating. The audio is tuned in collaboration with UK-based audio experts KEF, hinting at high-end sound quality. Additionally, users can expect adaptive bass enhancement, spatial audio, and an 8-band custom EQ for personal sound tuning.
Wide Codec Support and Strong ANC
Nothing Headphone 1 also has AAC, SBC, and LDAC codecs for top-notch wireless streaming. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is also included in the deal, with up to 42dB of noise cancellation and running over a 2,000Hz frequency band. Transparency mode can let in ambient sounds when desired, complementing its functionality.
Smooth Controls and Versatile Connectivity
For physical interaction, Nothing features a roll mechanism, a paddle, and a classic button, providing multiple options for controlling the device. It pairs through Bluetooth 5.3 and supports the Nothing X app on Android and iOS. These provide effortless pairing and customization.
Massive Battery with Fast Charging
The Nothing Headphone 1 comes with a big 1,040mAh battery. With ANC deactivated, it delivers up to 80 hours of playback in AAC; with ANC activated, playback falls to 35 hours. When LDAC is used, battery life is up to 54 hours (ANC off) and 30 hours (ANC on). A 5-minute charge is enough to deliver 5 hours of usage without ANC, or 2.4 hours with ANC.
Smart Features for Everyday Convenience
Completely rounding out the offering are features such as Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair, dual-device pairing, personal sound profiles, on-head detection, Find My Device assistance, low-latency gaming mode, and a charging status LED. These features make the Nothing Headphones 1 a good all-around offering for audiophiles and everyday users alike.
