A new version of Apple’s most well-liked tracking device has been released. Indeed, the company has recently released the second-generation AirTag following the release of the original model in 2021. Sales of the previous model were promptly stopped after this new launch. In India, the new AirTag costs ₹12,900 for a four-pack and ₹3,790 for a single unit. By the end of this week, its first sale will start. Let us investigate it further.
What features does the new AirTag have?
The tiny form of the new AirTag makes it easy to attach this metal tracker to your wallet, keychain, or purse. It feels and looks precisely like the previous generation. On the other hand, Apple has significantly altered its internal hardware. According to the company, the new AirTag has a 50% longer range.

As a result, users will be able to track objects that are greatly farther away with ease. Apple’s second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) processor, which is also present in the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Watch Series 11, is responsible for this extended range.
Better Speaker
Also, compared to the previous model, the new AirTag has an improved speaker that can be heard from twice as far away. This also simplifies the process of locating misplaced objects. You may now use your Apple Watch to track this AirTag as well. This feature is unique. But only the Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2, or later versions will be compatible with this feature.
Uses the Find My Network
The new AirTag will function by creating a connection with Apple’s Find My application. It can use Bluetooth to transmit signals to any Apple device in the vicinity. This implies that the location of a misplaced AirTag will be updated and sent to its owner when it comes into contact with an iPhone or Mac. In Lost Mode, users can also show a personalized message along with their phone number.
