Police arrested Ashish from Pune. Police said that they were continuously tracking his location. A senior police officer said that the police team was first looking for Ashish in Goa, but he escaped from there. Finally, the police caught him in Pune, where he was staying with a friend.
The complainant woman has alleged that Ashish sexually abused her inside the bathroom at a house party in Delhi in the second week of August. This complaint was registered on August 11, after which the police started searching for Ashish.

The woman had also named some other people in her initial complaint, but later she changed her statement. Initially, she had said that along with Ashish, some other unknown people also raped her, but later she accused only Ashish of rape.
