UGC NSP Scholarship 2025 Merit List Released. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the 2025 merit list for postgraduate (PG) students under the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). This scholarship scheme is for students across the country who are first-time graduate students seeking financial support for higher education.
This merit list has been released for students in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science streams. Eligible candidates can apply until November 15, 2025, while the institute verification process will continue until November 30, 2025.

What is the National Scholarship Scheme?
The objective of the ‘National Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies’ scheme is to promote higher education in the country. Under this scheme, the UGC provides financial assistance to 10,000 meritorious students every year, enabling them to complete their chosen postgraduate course without financial constraints.
This scholarship is provided to students for 10 months at the rate of ₹15,000 per month, which translates to a total assistance of ₹1.5 lakh per year.
NSP Scholarship 2025 Merit List: How many students received a place?
A total of 10,000 students are included in this interim merit list released by the UGC. Of these, 5,000 students are from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and 5,000 are from the Faculty of Science.
The list contains each student’s name, application ID, institution name, and course details.
NSP Scholarship 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Only students can apply for the National Scholarship. You can find the eligibility criteria here.
- A first-time enrollee in a PG degree program.
- A younger than 30 years of age (as of the date of admission).
- A full-time or regular enrollee.
- Students studying through open, distance, or private modes will not be eligible.
- In cases of integrated courses, scholarships will be awarded only for the PG component.
How to Download the NSP Scholarship 2025 Merit List
Eligible students can easily download the merit list by following the steps below:
- Visit the official website scholarships.gov.in.
- Click on the UGC/AICTE/PG Scholarships section on the homepage.
- Now click on the “Interim Merit List 2025 (Humanities / Science)” link.
- Once the PDF opens, click the download button.
- Find your name or application ID in the list and save it for future reference.

What the UGC Official Notification Says
The UGC states, “This scholarship is aimed at providing equal opportunities in higher education. Only students who are enrolling for the first time in a regular PG course at a recognized university or college are eligible for this grant.”
