How many positions will be recruited?
According to the latest SSC notification, a total of 7,948 positions will be filled.
- MTS Category (18–25 years): 6,078 posts
- MTS Category (18–27 years): 732 posts
- Havildar under CBIC and CBN: 1,138 posts
This means that approximately 8,000 candidates will be eligible for employment in this recruitment drive, including both MTS and Havildar.
Originally, there were 8,021 vacancies, now reduced to 7,948
The Commission initially advertised recruitment for 5,464 posts. Subsequently, the number of posts was increased to 8,021. However, the revised list has now reduced the number of posts to 7,948, representing a reduction of 73 posts.
This change has been made based on updates and requirements received from various departments. Candidates are advised to carefully review the new vacancy list and estimate their cutoff and selection chances accordingly.
Category-wise MTS (18–25 years) Vacancies
This category includes a total of 6,078 positions.
- General (UR): 2,859
- EWS: 596
- OBC: 1,486
- SC: 665
- ST: 472
This is the largest category of MTS and offers the most opportunities.
Category-wise MTS (18–27 years) Vacancies
A total of 732 positions are included in the 18–27 age group—
- General (UR): 323
- EWS: 89
- OBC: 215
- SC: 56
- ST: 49
The number of positions in this category is relatively low, but this age limit applies in some states and departments.
1,138 Constable (CBIC & CBN) Posts
The SSC has also announced a significant number of recruitments for Constable (Havildar). The total number of 1,138 posts includes:
- General (UR): 497
- EWS: 131
- OBC: 272
- SC: 138
- ST: 100
These posts will be filled under the CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs) and CBN (Central Bureau of Narcotics).
