The Tier-1 stage of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2025, one of the biggest examinations of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), has been conducted, and now candidates are eagerly awaiting its results. It is expected that the SSC CGL Tier-1 result may be released by the second week of November 2025. However, no official date has been announced by the Commission yet.

It should be noted that after graduation, candidates look for government jobs, with the first priority being the SSC CGL. When was the exam held?

The SSC conducted the CGL Tier-1 exam from September 12th to 26th and October 14th, 2025, at various exam centres across the country. This year, approximately 2.8 million candidates applied, of which approximately 1.35 million appeared for the exam.

The exam was a computer-based test (CBT) with questions from subjects such as General Intelligence, Mathematics, General Studies, and English Comprehension.

When is the result expected?

According to reliable sources and trends from previous years, the SSC is expected to release the Tier-1 exam results by mid-November or the second week of November.

After the results are released, candidates will be able to check their results by visiting the SSC’s official website, ssc.gov.in.

The result will be released in PDF format, containing the candidates’ names, roll numbers, category-wise cut-off marks, and the list of candidates eligible for the next stage (Tier 2).

Cut-Off Marks and Selection Process

The Commission will also announce category-wise cut-off marks along with the result. These cut-offs are set separately for different categories – General (UR), OBC, SC, ST, and EWS.

Candidates who qualify in Tier 1 will be invited to appear for the Tier 2 exam. In Tier 2, candidates will be asked questions from topics such as Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and English Comprehension.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the normalised scores of Tier 1 and Tier 2. This will be followed by Document Verification (DV) and Post Preference.

How many positions will be recruited?

This year, the SSC CGL 2025 exam will fill a total of 14,582 posts in various central government ministries, departments, and organisations. These posts include important positions such as Assistant, Inspector, Auditor, Accountant, and Statistical Officer under Group B and Group C.
