Schools Closed Today: Due to the severe cold, orders have been issued to keep schools closed in several states. Dense fog and cold waves are also affecting daily life. In light of this, the District Magistrate has changed school timings and issued orders to keep schools closed in some areas. Due to cold weather, all schools from pre-primary through class 5 in the Varanasi district will remain closed today, Friday, December 26th. In Uttar Pradesh, the new school timings will be from 10 AM to 3 PM, to protect children from the extreme cold in the mornings. This decision has been made with the health of young children in mind. Delhi Schools Closed
Due to cold weather and the Christmas holidays, schools in Delhi will be closed from December 22nd to December 27th, 2025. This holiday has been given to protect students from the cold.
Bihar Schools Closed
Due to severe cold, the Samastipur district administration has declared school holidays.
Affected classes: Classes 1 to 8
Holiday dates: Until December 27th, 2025; December 28th will be a Sunday holiday.
This order will apply to government and private schools, pre-schools, and Anganwadi centres.
Kerala Schools Closed
The Kerala General Education Department had announced Christmas and New Year holidays for schools across the state. Holidays here will continue until January 4th.
UP Schools Closed
Almost all districts of Uttar Pradesh are affected by the cold and fog. Following the Varanasi District Magistrate’s instructions, all schools from pre-primary through class 5 in the district will remain closed today, December 26th. This order applies to all government, council, aided, and private recognised schools, and to all boards, including CBSE and ICSE.
Punjab Schools Closed
The Punjab government has officially announced winter holidays for all schools. Schools in Punjab will remain closed until January 10th, 2026.
