Delhi Pollution: Working hours in offices have changed; order issues

Delhi is in the grip of severe pollution. Now it is virtually impossible to breathe there. Now, in this situation, the Central Government takes a big decision. The government announced different working hours for its employees in view of the increased pollution in Delhi. The order issued by the Union Personnel Ministry also asked the employees to use pulling vehicles and use public transport to reduce vehicular pollution.

New timings for offices

“In view of the alarming levels of air pollution in Delhi, various ministries, departments, and organizations of the Central Government are advised to adopt staggered timings in respect of offices located in Delhi-NCR,” the order said. Offices can remain open from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.

The Delhi government has already made the announcement.

 

The Delhi government on Wednesday announced that 50 percent of the employees in government offices will now work from home and 50 percent will attend office. As the pollution level is increasing in the capital, restrictions are being imposed by the government. Grep-4 has already been implemented. Schools and colleges have been closed. Now, considering the health of the employees, they have been asked to work from home.

 

Work from home facility in Gurugram too.

 

In view of the rising AQI in Gurugram, the district administration on Tuesday issued an advisory for working from home. In this advisory issued by Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar, corporate and private sector companies have been asked to allow 50 percent of the employees to work from home. Along with this, the Deputy Commissioner has banned the physical presence of children in all Anganwadi centers till further orders.

 

School’s are closed

 

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Joshi has ordered the closure of schools up to class 12 as air pollution in the city has reached the’severe’ category. All classes will run online. Among the NCR districts, the administration has decided to close schools up to class 12 in Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Noida. Among colleges, Jamia Millia Islamia and Jawaharlal Nehru University also decided to conduct online classes.
