New Delhi: Late Tuesday night, the municipal corporation carried out a demolition drive near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque at Turkman Gate in the national capital. During the operation to remove encroachments, angry residents pelted stones at the municipal team, leading to a tense situation. Five police officers were injured, and the situation in the area became volatile.

Senior officials are closely monitoring the situation. The demolition drive was launched by the municipal corporation after midnight. The municipal team arrived with approximately 30 bulldozers. A large number of police personnel were also present during the operation.
