CLAT Registration 2026. If you missed applying for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2026), there’s great news for interested students. The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has extended the registration deadline for CLAT 2026. Candidates can now apply until November 7, 2025. Previously, the deadline was October 31, 2025. The institute has now provided another opportunity. Candidates who haven’t yet applied can register online by visiting the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2026) will be held on December 7, 2025. Candidates wishing to apply can now apply early and accelerate their exam preparation.

CLAT 2026: When will the exam be held?
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at exam centres across the country. The exam will be conducted in one shift, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The exam will be conducted offline (pen-and-paper mode).
The CLAT exam provides admission to LLB (UG) and LLM (PG) courses at 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) and several other premier institutions in the country.
Who can apply?
Eligibility for the CLAT 2026 exam is determined at two levels.
1. For Undergraduate (UG) programs:
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates).
- Students appearing for the 12th exam this year can also apply.
2. For Postgraduate (PG) programs:
- Candidates must have an LLB or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST).
- Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria when applying; otherwise, their applications may be rejected.
How to Apply for CLAT 2026
The registration process is completely online. Candidates can apply by following the steps below:
- First, visit the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
- Click on the “CLAT 2026 Registration” link on the homepage.
- Create a new account by entering your email ID, mobile number, and password.
- Follow the requested personal and educational information.
- Pay the examination fee online.
- Recheck the information entered once before submitting.
- After a successful application, keep a printout of it safely.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee for CLAT 2026 is as follows, category-wise.
- General, OBC, NRI candidates: ₹4,000
- SC, ST, and PwD candidates: ₹3,500
Candidates can pay the fee online (debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI).

CLAT Exam Pattern
The UG exam will have a total of 120 questions, covering reading comprehension, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, general knowledge, and quantitative aptitude.
The PG exam will have 120 objective questions, focusing on legal topics and case law. There will be 1 mark for each correct answer and a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
