CBSE Class 10 & 12 Practical Exams 2025. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the dates for practical exams for Class 10 and 12 students in 2025. In a notice posted on its official website, cbse.gov.in, the board stated that practical exams in winter-bound schools will begin after Diwali and Chhath Puja, i.e., on November 6, 2025. These exams will be completed by December 6, 2025. The board has also issued guidelines for projects, internal assessments, and mark uploading.

Dates finalised for winter school
CBSE has stated that practical exams will be held earlier for schools where cold weather makes it difficult to conduct exams in January. In such schools, practicals, projects, and internal tests for both Classes 10 and 12 must be completed between November 6 and December 6, 2025. The board has instructed schools to upload all records and marks to the portal within the stipulated deadline so that preparations for the main exam can begin on time.
Practical exams and the marking process
The CBSE circular also states that an external examiner and an internal examiner will be appointed in each school. The maximum number of students in a batch has been limited to 20 to 25 to ensure quality evaluation. Additionally, video recordings and photo evidence will be uploaded during practical exams to ensure transparency.
Marks will be uploaded in real time on the board’s examination portal. To avoid any delays or mistakes, schools have been advised to prepare in advance.
When will the exams begin?
The CBSE has clarified that this date applies only to winter-bound schools. Practical exams and internal assessments for regular schools across the country will begin in the first week of January 2026. The board will issue a separate circular for these schools in December, detailing the exact dates and instructions.
Preparations for Board Exams 2026 also begin.
The board has already announced that the CBSE 10th and 12th main board exams will begin on February 15, 2026. Like this year, the exams will last for approximately two months next year and are expected to be completed by early April 2026. A detailed CBSE Date Sheet 2026 will be released by December.

Important Instructions for Students
The CBSE has advised both students and teachers to prepare all projects, lab records, and notebooks well in advance. The school administration will be responsible for any irregularities or negligence found during the exams. Furthermore, adherence to the practical exam dates and guidelines is mandatory.
