BPSC 71st Prelims Result Out. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the results of the 71st Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination. What was the cut-off for which category?
In the cut-offs released by the BPSC, the cut-off for the General Category (UR) was 88. For female candidates, it dropped to 78.

Over 300,000 candidates appeared for the exam.
The 71st PT exam was conducted on September 13, 2025, at 912 examination centers located in 37 districts of the state. A total of 4.71 lakh candidates applied, but approximately 3.16 lakh appeared for the exam.

14,261 Candidates Passed
According to the released results, a total of 14,261 candidates passed the preliminary exam. Of these, 13,368 candidates have been selected for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)—specifically, for positions in the police department or those requiring physical testing.
After the preliminary exam, these candidates will now prepare for the main exam, followed by interviews and other stages.
