School Closed 2026 – Punjab Schools Closed Till Jan 10, UP Primary Schools Till Jan 15; Check Full List of State – Wise Holidays

School Closed 2025: North India is currently experiencing a severe cold wave. The region is gripped by intense cold and dense fog. Continuous snowfall in the hilly areas has further intensified the cold. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the arrival of a Western Disturbance, rain and snowfall are expected in the mountainous regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand for the next 4 to 5 days, until December 31st. Considering the cold weather, schools have been closed in several states across the country, including Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. School timings have also been changed in many states.

When will schools reopen in UP?
According to the DM’s (District Magistrate’s) order in Uttar Pradesh, schools will reopen directly on December 31st. Earlier, a holiday was declared across the state on December 26th due to Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti.

School Holidays in Bihar

Bihar is also experiencing continuous cold weather. Due to the continuous drop in temperature in Purnea, educational activities for classes up to 8th grade have been suspended until December 30th.

Winter Vacation in Madhya Pradesh
Schools in Madhya Pradesh will remain closed from December 31st, 2025 to January 4th, 2026. The administration has made this decision regarding school holidays due to severe cold.

Ghaziabad School Closed
Due to the severe cold, winter holidays have been declared in schools in Uttar Pradesh. Schools up to the primary level will remain closed until January 15th. Schools will now reopen on January 16th.

Punjab Schools Closed
The Punjab government has officially announced winter holidays for all schools. Schools in Punjab will remain closed until January 10th, 2026.

Kerala Schools Closed
The Kerala General Education Department had announced Christmas and New Year holidays for schools across the state. Holidays here will continue until January 4th.
