Pahalgam Terror Attack: The Civil Aviation Ministry has asked airline companies to ensure that there is no increase in air fare on Srinagar route. The ministry said that the airlines will also operate additional flights to Srinagar. A major tourist place in Pahalgam, South Kashmir was attacked by militants on Tuesday. At least 26 people, including most tourists, were killed and many others were injured in this attack.

Srinagar flight should not be expensive

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu held an immediate meeting with all airline companies and issued strict consultation against the price hike on Srinagar route. The official statement released on Wednesday said that the airlines have been instructed to maintain regular fare level, so that it can be ensured that no passenger is burdened during this sensitive time.

Naidu also spoke to Home Minister Amit Shah and is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the officials concerned.

4 special flight announced from Srinagar

The statement said, “Under immediate relief measures, four special flights have been arranged from Srinagar, of which two are for Delhi and two for Mumbai. Additional flights have been kept ready.”

Naidu has instructed all the airlines to cooperate with the state governments and local officials to make the families of the deceased reach their home states. The statement said that the ministry is completely cautious and is committed to provide all possible assistance to the affected people.

Major airline gave relief to passengers

Air India and IndiGo will operate a total of four additional flights from Srinagar to the national capital and Mumbai on Wednesday. Airlines have also waived ticket re -radiation and cancellation fees.

Air India will operate a flight from Srinagar to Delhi at 11.30 am and Srinagar to Mumbai at 12.00 am. Air India operates five flights daily from Delhi and Mumbai to Srinagar. The airline is also offering to return the full rupee on free revision and cancellation to passengers with ‘confirmed booking’ on these areas by 30 April.

IndiGo said that in view of the situation in Srinagar, it has extended the rebellion or cancellation exemption for the journey till April 30, which was applicable to the booking made on or before 22 April or before. IndiGo operates 20 flights daily from Srinagar.

Akasa Air said that passengers who want to cancel their booking will be returned from April 23 to 29 for all flights leaving for Srinagar/without any additional fee. Air India Express said that in view of the current situation in Pahalgam, it is giving full help to its passengers coming and going to Srinagar.
