Temperatures are on the rise, but according to IMD Kolkata, we can expect a drop starting tomorrow, Friday. The weather has been super unpredictable lately. Kolkata saw a 3-degree increase overnight.
From tomorrow, Friday, we’ll have clear skies, and temperatures are set to fall by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius by Sunday. It looks like the mercury will dip over the weekend, bringing back a mild winter vibe in the mornings and evenings.
On Friday, dense fog will blanket 9 districts in South Bengal and 3 in North Bengal. There’s a fog warning for Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, and North Dinajpur, where visibility could drop to just 50 meters.
Today, Thursday, moderate to dense fog is expected in 9 districts of South Bengal. In Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South Dinajpur, East and West Midnapore, West Burdwan, and Nadia, there will be scattered dense fog, while the other districts will see light to moderate fog.
Temperature above normal
Clear skies are expected starting Friday, according to the Met Office. Temperatures are currently on a downward trend, but the Alipore Meteorological Department forecasts a rise in temperatures next week. In Kolkata, there has been a slight increase in temperature, with both day and night readings above normal. Expect light to moderate fog in the mornings, followed by a partly cloudy afternoon. The temperature has notably increased by three degrees Celsius overnight. A slight decrease in temperature is anticipated over the weekend, with mercury levels dropping again starting Friday.
