The central government has launched the new phase 3.0 of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, providing relief to women from poor and underprivileged sections of society. This scheme aims to protect women from serious diseases caused by smoke from wood and cow dung fires and to provide them with clean fuel. This time, the government has expanded the scope of the scheme, deciding to provide free LPG connections along with a gas stove, the first cylinder, and a subsidy of Rs. 300 on every refill.

Target of adding 25 lakh new connections

At a meeting of the Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 held at the Chhatarpur Collectorate complex, Dhirendra Kumar, an official of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, informed that under this phase, 25 lakh additional women across the country will be given free LPG connections. This facility is only for women whose households do not currently have any type of gas connection. The application process will continue until the target is met.

Application through both online and offline modes

The application process for Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 has been made simple and accessible. Interested women can visit their nearest gas agency to submit the form. In addition, online application facilities are also available through the government website and Common Service Centres. During the online application, identity and address verification is done through the Aadhaar card.

Online application process

To apply online, first, you need to visit the official website of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. On the homepage, select the online application option and register. After that, the applicant has to enter details related to their Aadhaar card, mobile number, and bank account. After verification of the OTP received on the mobile number, the application process is complete.

Information on required documents

To avail of the scheme, an Aadhaar card, a bank passbook, a ration card, and a passport-size photograph are mandatory. The documents should be correct and up-to-date to avoid any delay or rejection of the application.

Appointment of District Nodal Officer

To ensure the smooth functioning of the Ujjwala Yojana and to address grievances, nodal officers have been appointed at the district level. In Chhatarpur district, this responsibility has been given to Balram Gupta. In case of any problems, beneficiaries can contact the Ujjwala Committee or the nodal officer, which includes officials from the oil companies.
