Vande Bharat Trains Update: The Railway Ministry has shared some key news about Vande Bharat trains. This includes the introduction of a new Vande Bharat Express train. Additionally, it has been revealed that two other Vande Bharat trains will be discontinued this week. The new Vande Bharat Express will link Rajasthan and Gujarat. This semi-high-speed train will operate between Udaipur and Asarwa (Ahmedabad).
The North Western Railway (NWR) will handle the maintenance and operation of this train. This initiative aims to enhance regional connectivity in the state and stimulate the economy. NWR mentioned in a statement that for passenger convenience, the Railway Board has announced the Udaipur City-Asarwa (Ahmedabad) Vande Bharat train.
2 Vande Bharat trains will cease operations
In addition, Indian Railways has made another significant decision. As per this, two Vande Bharat Express trains will stop running starting this week. These trains previously operated on the Udaipur City-Agra Cantt and Udaipur City-Jaipur routes. NWR stated that train number 20981/82 (Udaipur City-Agra Cantt-Udaipur City) Vande Bharat Express will no longer run from February 15, 2026. Meanwhile, train number 20979/80 (Udaipur City-Jaipur-Udaipur City) Vande Bharat Express will stop operating from February 14, 2026.
Udaipur City-Asarwa (Ahmedabad) Timings and Frequency
The Udaipur City-Asarwa (Ahmedabad)-Udaipur City Vande Bharat Express will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. Train number 26963 will leave Udaipur City at 6:10 am and reach Asarwa at 10:25 am. Train number 26964, the Asarwa (Ahmedabad)-Udaipur City Vande Bharat Express, will depart from Asarwa at 6:45 pm and arrive at Udaipur City at 8:22 pm. According to NWR, the train will make stops at Jawar, Dungarpur, and Himmat Nagar stations. The train’s top speed will be 160 kmph, providing passengers with a quicker, more comfortable, and premium travel experience.
