The Uttar Pradesh government could present its employees with a Diwali gift at any time. The Yogi government may announce a Diwali bonus for all government employees in Uttar Pradesh. The amount of the government’s Diwali bonus has not yet been confirmed.
Aside from this, a DA increase is also expected. The UP government may also increase the DA for employees and pensioners. It is believed that the government may approve the DA increase before Diwali. What will be the DA for Uttar Pradesh employees?
If the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh increases the DA by 3%, it will increase the DA to 58%. Currently, state employees receive a 55% DA. The increased DA rates will be effective from July 1, 2025. The previous DA increase rates were implemented from January 1, 2025. The government increases DA twice every year.
How Much Bonus Can Be Given?
On the other hand, there is a discussion about how much bonus can be given to UP government employees on the occasion of Diwali. According to a report, the maximum bonus amount is expected to be around ₹7,000. Once the bonus is announced, the state government’s treasury will be burdened by approximately ₹1,022 crore. The government provides bonuses annually on the occasion of Diwali. Approximately 1.5 million employees will benefit from this.
Central Government Increased DA
The central government has already increased DA. This time, the DA of central employees was increased by 3%, taking it to 58%. Previously, the government had increased DA by 2%. The rates of the increased DA have come into effect from July 1, 2025. This will result in a significant increase in salaries.
