Uttar Pradesh Budget 2026: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh just rolled out its final full budget before the 2027 elections. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna unveiled a massive budget of Rs 9,12,696 crore. With this budget, the government is trying to win over the public ahead of the assembly elections in 2027. The Yogi government is focusing on infrastructure development and has opened its coffers for the benefit of all sections of society, particularly women, youth, and farmers. Their goal is to transform Uttar Pradesh into a one trillion dollar economy.
GSDP saw a strong growth of 13.4%
While speaking to the House, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna mentioned that Uttar Pradesh’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has hit Rs 30.25 lakh crore, marking an impressive rise of 13.4 percent from last year.
The government asserts that due to better law and order and increased industrial investment, the state has made historic strides in reducing poverty. Government statistics indicate that around 60 million people have escaped multidimensional poverty. Additionally, the unemployment rate has dropped to just 2.24 percent.
1 lakh support for daughters’ marriages
This budget has offered considerable relief to the middle and lower classes. The Yogi government has broadened social welfare programs and raised the financial aid for daughters’ marriages. This assistance has been increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
Promise of 10 lakh jobs
He has also committed to generating 1 million new jobs for the youth. With the launch of the Uttar Pradesh Employment Mission, young people are discovering fresh opportunities both locally and internationally. Additionally, there are plans for labor shelters for migrant workers and accident compensation for those registered on the e-shram portal.
November Forest in Agricultural Production
This budget features special measures for farmers, who are deemed the backbone of Uttar Pradesh’s economy. The Finance Minister highlighted that the state holds the top position in the nation for agricultural output.
Sugarcane price hiked by Rs 30 per quintal
The price of sugarcane has been raised by Rs 30 per quintal for the upcoming 2025-26 crushing season. This increase will add an extra Rs 3,000 crore to farmers’ earnings. Moreover, a budget of several thousand crores has been allocated for the procurement of wheat and paddy, ensuring that farmers receive a fair price for their crops promptly.
43,000 crores have been allocated for new schemes
The government has unveiled new initiatives worth around Rs 43,000 crore in this budget. The primary focus is on enhancing infrastructure, including expressways, roads, and electricity. Per capita income has also seen significant growth, projected to hit Rs 120,000 by 2025-26.
