According to RBI rules, holidays are not the same in all banks. Holidays are fixed in every state based on local festivals and regional events. Calculation of weekend holidays

In September 2025, banks will be closed every Sunday and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. The first Sunday of this month will fall on September 7. After this, banks will remain closed for two consecutive days on September 13 (second Saturday) and September 14 (Sunday). Similarly, there will be a bank holiday on September 27 (fourth Saturday) and September 28 (Sunday).

Banks will remain closed on festivals

Many major festivals like Onam, Eid-e-Milad, Navratri Sthapana, and Durga Puja will be celebrated in September 2025. Banks will remain closed in different states on these occasions.

Karma Puja:- Banks will remain closed in Jharkhand on September 3.

Onam:- Banks will remain closed in Kerala on September 4.

Thiruvonam, Eid-e-Milad:- Banks will remain closed in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Kerala, Jharkhand, and Jammu on September 5.

Eid-e-Milad, Indrajatra:- Banks will remain closed in Sikkim and Chhattisgarh on September 6.

Friday after Eid-e-Milad:- Banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar on September 12.

Navaratri Sthapana:- Banks will be closed in Rajasthan on September 22.

Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti:- Banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar on September 23.

Mahashshthi/Mahasaptami, Durga Puja:- Banks will be closed in Tripura, Assam, and West Bengal on September 29.

Mahashtami, Durga Puja:- Banks will be closed in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Rajasthan, and West Bengal on September 30.

Digital services are always on

Let us tell you that even though the bank branches will remain closed during these holidays, all digital services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATM will continue to function normally. So, if you have any work that can be done online, then you do not need to worry. But if you are planning to do check clearing, draft deposit, or any work by visiting the branch, then complete them before the holidays.
