UP Budget 2026–27: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh presented the most historic budget in the state’s history. This was the last full budget of the Yogi 2.0 regime, which made every effort to be inclusive. The government focused on farmers, youth, and the education sector. Under the leadership of CM Yogi, UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the budget for the financial years 2026 and 2027 in the Assembly.
It is being reported that this is the largest budget in the state’s history. The UP government had presented a budget of ₹8,08,736 crore 6 lakh for the years 2025 and 2026. This was 9.8 per cent more than the budget for 2024–25. Now, the budget for 2026–27 is ₹9,12,696.35 crore, which is 12.9% more than the budget for 2025–26.

Several major announcements have been made for farmers in this full budget, bringing smiles to their faces. Overall, the UP government has made several significant announcements, taking into account all sectors of the economy.
What did the UP government provide for farmers in the budget?
UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the UP budget. He made several significant announcements. He stated that the state is a leading agricultural producer in the country. The state contributes significantly to the national production of wheat, paddy, sugarcane, potatoes, bananas, mangoes, guavas, amla, and mint.
He added that a record sugarcane price payment of over ₹3,04,321 crore has been made during the government’s tenure so far. This payment is ₹90,802 crore more than the combined sugarcane price payment of ₹2,13,519 crore in the previous 22 years.

Meanwhile, sugarcane prices have increased by ₹30 per quintal for the 2025-2026 crushing season. This will enable sugarcane farmers to receive an additional payment of approximately ₹3,000 crore. In the 2025-2026 Rabi marketing year, ₹2,512 crore was paid for purchasing 10.27 lakh metric tons of wheat from farmers.
In the 2025-2026 Kharif marketing year, ₹9,710 crore was paid for purchasing 42.96 lakh metric
tons of paddy from farmers.
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna announced during the budget that construction of a Kisan Agri Hub is underway in Gomtinagar, Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Programs are also underway to ensure farmers receive fair prices for their crops. Along with this, free electricity supply is also being provided to farmers for irrigation through tube wells from April 1, 2023.
Who will present the next budget?
For your information, this was the fifth full budget of the Yogi 2.0 regime, presented by Finance Minister Mukesh Khanna. Assembly elections are scheduled in Uttar Pradesh before the full budgets for the fiscal years 2027 and 2028 are presented. Therefore, the election results will only provide clarity on who will present the next full budget. Yogi Adityanath has become the first Chief Minister of the state to present his tenth consecutive budget under his leadership.
