How to set up the app
Setting up the Aadhaar app is extremely easy. Users must download the app called “Aadhaar” from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After opening the app, select a language, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, and complete verification via OTP. Then, perform face authentication and set a 6-digit security PIN. Once setup is complete, users can decide which information to share during verification.

UIDAI has added a multi-profile feature to this app, allowing you to manage the Aadhaar cards of up to five family members linked to a single mobile number. This will keep the entire family’s identity information safe on a single device and allow for quick access when needed.

This new app uses biometric security locks and face recognition technology, ensuring user information is completely secure. No one else can access your information unless you unlock it yourself.
Complete Control Over Data Sharing
A key feature of the Aadhaar app is the selective data sharing feature. This allows users to decide which information to display during verification. Only name and photo can be displayed when not needed, while details like address or date of birth can be hidden.

Offline Mode and Activity Log
The app also works offline, meaning once set up, Aadhaar information can be viewed without the internet. Furthermore, the app’s activity log shows when and where your Aadhaar has been used, allowing for constant security monitoring.
