Getting an Aadhaar made for a newborn or small child is a difficult task for parents, because it is not easy to take them to the Aadhaar center. But now you don’t have to worry. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has made this process even easier. UIDAI has started a new facility for ‘Blue Aadhaar Card’ (Child’s Aadhaar Card), under which the Aadhaar officer himself will come to your home and make the child’s Aadhaar. This has given great relief to the parents. Let’s know the whole process of taking advantage of this facility, step by step.
How to apply for ‘Baal Aadhaar’ from home

To get ‘Baal Aadhaar’ (Baal Aadhaar), you have to follow an easy process on the UIDAI website:
First of all, go to the official website of UIDAI.
Go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab and select ‘Book an Appointment’.
Select your city and the nearest Aadhaar service center.
Select the option of ‘New Aadhaar Enrollment for Child’.
Now enter your mobile number, on which an OTP will come.
Book your appointment by entering the OTP.
What to do on the day of the appointment
On the day of the appointment, you do not need to take the child to the Aadhaar center. Instead, now UIDAI officials themselves will come to the address given by you. You just have to show them the necessary documents.
Child’s birth certificate
The child’s Aadhaar is linked to the mother’s or father’s Aadhaar, so it is necessary to have their Aadhaar card. After this, the child’s photo will be taken by the officials. No biometrics are taken for children below 5 years of age; only their photo is taken. The child’s biometrics are authenticated with the mother’s or father’s biometrics.

When will the biometrics update in the future
Once you complete this process, you will get a slip. After this, within 60 to 90 days, your child’s ‘Baal Aadhaar’ card will reach the given address by post. Note: It is mandatory to update the biometrics of the child when he/she turn 5 years and 15 years of age. This will keep their Aadhaar card valid in the future as well.
This new initiative by UIDAI makes the process of getting Aadhaar for children more convenient and hassle-free than ever before, bringing relief to millions of parents.
