Toll Tax Update: Government Prepares Big Relief on Toll! Know What Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari Said

After income tax, the government is now preparing to give a big relief on tolls as well. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari shared in an exclusive interview with NDTV India that the government is soon going to introduce a scheme that will provide significant relief to the people. He mentioned that the study by his ministry has been completed, and the scheme will be revealed soon. This scheme will bring substantial relief for everyone.

Gadkari also stated that efforts are being made to reduce pollution and traffic issues by using new technology. Many new projects are being initiated for this purpose.

Nitin Gadkari said, “The number of people accepting freebies has increased, and that’s why these freebies are being offered. When the public decides to vote for policies and not for freebies, then the impact of freebies will diminish.”

Will the Toll Be Abolished or Reduced?

When asked whether the toll will be abolished or reduced, Nitin Gadkari kept the suspense. He mentioned that the announcement of this scheme will be made soon. He also revealed that the government is working on a satellite-based toll system and that decisions regarding this will be taken as well. However, he stated that the upcoming scheme will be different from this system. Gadkari assured that, in the coming days, the public’s dissatisfaction with tolls will be addressed.

Not a Single Diesel Bus in Delhi Within 5 Years

Nitin Gadkari confirmed that within the next five years, no diesel buses will be seen in Delhi. All buses will be electric. He added that he owns a vehicle that runs on 100% ethanol. Companies like Tata, Suzuki, and Mahindra are also working on ethanol-powered vehicles. Gadkari emphasized that the price of diesel, petrol cars, trucks, and buses will eventually become the same. He also stated that soon, 1 lakh electric buses will be produced annually in the country.
