Crop prices saw a slight to moderate increase in various grain markets across Rajasthan today, while arrivals declined in many places. This is being considered a positive sign for farmers, as overall market sentiment remains strong given the uptick in major crops. While many traders are citing the limited availability of old stocks, farmers are keeping an eye on the market in hopes of getting better prices. According to the latest report, current prices for various crops have been released, with several significant changes recorded today.
Impact of Falling Arrivals in Rajasthan’s Markets
Arrivals in the state’s major agricultural markets were lower today compared to previous days. Due to the low arrivals, prices for many crops were seen rising. Traders believe that the new crop is still waiting to arrive from the fields, and the lack of existing stocks is impacting the market. This situation is beneficial for farmers, as prices often strengthen during periods of low arrivals.
Prices of various peanut varieties increased in Rajasthan’s markets today. Open peanuts were sold for ₹5,200 to ₹6,100, and ground peanuts for ₹4,800 to ₹5,450. Prices for roasted peanuts reached ₹5,700 to ₹6,701, which is considered better than in the past. Traders report stable demand for peanuts, while prices are firming due to a decrease in arrivals.
Wheat and guar prices also improved
Wheat prices ranged from ₹2,400 to ₹2,950 per quintal today, which is considered slightly higher than normal. Guar prices ranged from ₹4,200 to ₹4,470 per quintal. Guar prices often fluctuate due to their demand for the oil industry, but today’s market showed slight strength.
Impact of Rise in Moth Beans, Moong Beans, and Gram
Moth bean prices ranged from ₹4,000 to ₹4,951 per quintal today. Similarly, moong bean prices also saw a significant increase, ranging from ₹5,700 to ₹7,250 per quintal. This increase in moong is beneficial for farmers, as prices have been under pressure in recent days. Both gram and Russian gram prices also remained in the ₹5,000 to ₹5,500 range, indicating market stability.
High Demand in Fenugreek, Psyllium, and Cumin
Fenugreek prices remained at ₹4,600 to ₹5,200, while Psyllium prices ranged from ₹8,500 to ₹12,625. The Psyllium market is always demand-driven, and low arrivals led to a significant increase in prices today. Cumin also traded strongly today, ranging from ₹16,500 to ₹21,000 per quintal. Global demand is often reflected in this spice category.
Overall, several crops in Rajasthan’s grain markets today saw higher prices and lower arrivals, a sign of relief for farmers. Further price changes are possible in the coming days depending on the status of the new crop, weather, and market demand.
