Silver Rate Today on May 5: A slight decline is observed in the prices of both gold and silver. Silver’s lustre appears somewhat dimmed today. On one hand, crude oil prices have surged past $110 per barrel, reigniting fears of rising inflation. When interest rates are high, investors often prefer to allocate their capital to fixed-return instruments—such as bonds or fixed deposits—rather than invest in gold and silver.

Silver Prices Today
A decline in silver prices was recorded today, Tuesday, May 5. The price of silver has dropped by up to ₹5,000 per kilogram. In the bullion markets of most states across the country—including major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Bengaluru—the price of silver remains steady at ₹2,55,000 per kilogram. Conversely, in certain South Indian cities such as Chennai and Hyderabad, the price of silver stands at ₹2,65,000 per kilogram.

In the international market, gold rose by approximately 0.38% to reach $4,550.70 per ounce, while silver edged up 0.11% to $73.65 per ounce. In the domestic market, on the MCX exchange, gold futures for June delivery were recorded at ₹1,49,490 per 10 grams—an increase of 0.1%—while silver futures declined by 0.12% to trade at ₹2,43,600 per kilogram.

Gold Prices?
According to a report by GoodReturns, the price of 24-carat gold today has dropped by ₹440 compared to yesterday. The price of 22-carat gold, after a ₹400 per 10-gram decline, now stands at ₹1,36,750. Furthermore, a decline of ₹330 per 10 grams was recorded in the price of 18-carat gold, bringing its current price to ₹1,11,890.
