SBI: Big news for SBI customers. If you utilize the online services provided by the State Bank of India (SBI), this information is crucial for you. SBI has announced via its official X handle that its UPI, IMPS, YONO Internet Banking, NEFT, and RTGS services will be temporarily unavailable for 45 minutes on Saturday, May 9th.

The bank stated, ‘Due to scheduled maintenance work, our UPI, IMPS, YONO, Internet Banking, NEFT, and RTGS services will be offline for 45 minutes from 01:45 PM to 02:30 PM (IST) on 09.05.2026. During this time, we recommend customers use our UPI Lite and ATM services. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.’

State Bank of India is set to announce its financial results for the March quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26 today. It is anticipated that the bank’s shares may experience a slight dip leading up to this announcement. Additionally, all SBI branches will be closed tomorrow, May 9th, as it is the second Saturday of the month. SBI customers will face a 45-minute disruption due to the scheduled maintenance.

What should you anticipate from SBI’s Q4 results?

The entire market is keenly observing the performance of the largest public sector bank in the country. Several brokerage firms have published their forecasts for this year’s results. Some analysts predict that the bank’s net profit may either remain steady or decrease, while others are optimistic that the bank’s performance will exceed expectations. Attention is also focused on the bank’s loan growth and its ability to gather deposits. The company is expected to release its March quarter results around 5 PM today.

In an exchange filing released after market hours yesterday, SBI said its Central Board Executive Committee will consider a fundraising plan. Under this, the bank may raise funds in one or multiple tranches during FY 2026-27. This will involve issuing fixed or floating rate bonds through a public offer or private placement, denominated in US dollars or any other major foreign currency. The bank said in its statement that its plan to raise up to $2 billion under Reg-S/144A during FY 2026-27 will be reviewed and a decision will be taken.

Bank Holiday May List

In May 2026, banks will be closed nationwide on Sundays: May 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. They will also be closed on May 9, the second Saturday, and Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti. Additionally, banks will be closed on May 23, the fourth Saturday.

Moreover, some dates will be specific holidays for certain states. Statehood Day will be observed in some regions on May 16th.

Banks may also be closed on May 26 due to Kazi Nazrul Islam Jayanti.

Banks will be closed in most states on May 27-28 in observance of Eid al-Adha.
