Bihar Teacher Salary – Before the new year, 12,000 teachers in Banka have received good news, which is being widely discussed. Teachers, who were troubled by the fixed salary payments for the past two years, are now overjoyed. The department had not been giving them the benefit of the increased DA rate and annual salary increments, but after the departmental order, work in this direction has picked up pace in the district over the past three to four days.
First, their DA has been increased from 50 per cent to 58 per cent. In the last six months, the government has increased their DA from 50 to 53 and then to 58 per cent. However, most teachers were still being paid at the 50 per cent rate.
How much is the teachers’ dearness allowance?
Two days ago, after the HRMS update from Patna, the teachers’ DA was also increased to 58 per cent. The department calculated the arrears for the past six months and paid them on Tuesday. This directly benefited teachers from classes one to five and classes 11 to 12 in the district.
They have received the payment of arrears ranging from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000. Along with the December salary payment, they will also receive the benefit of the new DA rate. Teachers had also been waiting for their annual salary increments for the past two years.
Teacher receiving the benefit of salary increments
All teachers in special schools are also being given the benefit of salary increments. The establishment branch of the education department is working on this. Data is also being updated on the portal to provide the most deserving teachers with the benefit of a one-year salary increment from July 2025.
The process is underway to provide BPSC teachers with the benefit of two annual salary incrementsfor July 2024 and July 2025. However, due to the data not being updated in HRMS, teachers have not yet received the benefit of annual salary increments and DA. Along with this, the data of all teachers from Patna has now been uploaded to the HRMS system. The arrears were paid on December 23rd. Other benefits will be provided to the teachers by January.
