UP Voters Relief: The Election Commission of India (ECI) periodically conducts special intensive revision campaigns to maintain accurate and updated voter lists across the country. The aim is to ensure that no eligible citizen is deprived of their right to vote and to remove incorrect or fraudulent names from the voter list. The Election Commission has now taken an important and welcome decision regarding the special intensive revision campaign underway in Uttar Pradesh. Those whose names have not yet been added to the voter list or whose names, age, address, or other details are incorrect will now have additional time to apply.
Applications can be submitted until March 6, 2026
Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, during a press conference held at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow, announced that voters can now register their claims and objections until March 6, 2026. Previously, the deadline was February 6, but considering the large number of applications received and the demands from various parties, the deadline has been extended by one month. During this period, new voters can fill out Form 6 to add their names. Form 7 can be used to remove incorrect or duplicate names, and Form 8 can be used to correct voter details.

After the release of the draft list, claims and objections were invited from January 6 to February 6. However, due to the large number of applications received and requests from political parties, the deadline was extended.
Final Voter List to be Released on April 10
According to the new schedule set by the Election Commission, all applications will be accepted until March 6, 2026. Following this, all claims and objections will be resolved by March 27. After the entire process is complete, the final voter list for Uttar Pradesh will be published on April 10, 2026. This list will be valid for the upcoming elections.
