Important information related to the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi issued by the Central Government has come to light. The government has clearly said in the Parliament that at present there is no proposal under consideration to double the amount of PM Kisan Yojana. This means that farmers will still continue to get financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually in three installments.

What is PM Kisan Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana is a central scheme of the Government of India, aimed at providing financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, farmers are given an amount of Rs 6,000 annually, which is transferred directly to their bank account in three equal installments.

This scheme was launched in December 2018 and implemented across the country from February 2019. The main objective of the scheme is to improve the livelihood of farmers, support their agricultural expenses, and prevent them from depending on moneylenders.

When will the 21st installment come?

The central government had released the 20th installment of PM Kisan Yojana on August 2 itself. In such a situation, there is now curiosity among the farmers about the 21st installment. No official date has been announced by the government yet, but looking at the schedule of the previous installments, it is being estimated that the 21st installment may be released in November 2025.
