PM Kisan Yojana: The PM Kisan Yojana is one of the most popular schemes of the Government of India. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 in three equal installments every year. This amount is transferred directly to the farmers’ bank accounts to provide additional support for their farming needs. However, sometimes, farmers’ installments are delayed due to minor errors, incomplete information, or inaccuracies in documents.

It is often observed that farmers’ installments are delayed because their Aadhaar card is not linked to the bank account, or there are discrepancies in information, such as name and date of birth. Furthermore, if the farmer’s e-KYC is incomplete or the name in their land records does not match the bank account, the payment may be withheld.

Completing e-KYC is mandatory

The government has made e-KYC mandatory for all beneficiaries under the PM-KISAN scheme. Farmers whose e-KYC is incomplete will have their next installment withheld. Farmers can complete their e-KYC through biometric verification by visiting their nearest CSC. Alternatively, they can also complete the e-KYC process from home using an OTP by visiting the official PM-KISAN website, pmkisan.gov.in. The entire process is completed within minutes.

Checking Aadhaar and Bank Account Linking

If your installment hasn’t arrived for a long time, first check the linking status of your Aadhaar number and bank account. Ensure that your bank account is the same as the one linked to Aadhaar. If there are any errors in the linking, visit your bank branch and have it corrected immediately. Also, check with the bank official whether your KYC status is updated, as incomplete KYC can also cause installment delays.

Matching Land Records and Bank Details

Sometimes, the name on the land document differs from the name on the bank account, resulting in a withheld payment. To resolve this issue, farmers should contact their tehsil office or the agriculture department. They should check their land documents and bank details and make the necessary corrections. Once the records are corrected, the pending installment is automatically released.

Get Help From the Helpline

If your installment hasn’t arrived despite all these steps, farmers can directly contact the PM Kisan Helpline. For assistance or complaints related to the scheme, call the toll-free number 155261 or 1800-11-5526. Farmers can also contact the email ID pmkisan-ict@gov.in. Additionally, farmers can check their installment status by entering their Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account number in the Farmer Corner → Beneficiary Status section on the PM-KISAN website.

Keep Documents Updated

Farmers should ensure that their bank account, mobile number, and Aadhaar details are always updated. If there are any errors or changes, immediately visit the block office or CSC center to have them updated. Doing so will not only ensure that the pending installment is received, but all future installments will also arrive on time.
