PM Kisan Yojana: Big news for farmers. At present, millions of eligible farmers are part of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. These farmers receive an annual sum of Rs 6,000, which is distributed in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced during the second phase of election campaigning in West Bengal that if a BJP government is established in the state, the annual amount provided under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will be raised to Rs 9,000. Let’s explore this further…

What did PM Modi announce?

During a rally in Midnapore ahead of the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant promise to farmers. He stated that if the BJP comes to power in the state, both the Centre and the state will collaboratively deposit Rs 9,000 directly into the accounts of every farmer under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. While discussing the benefits of a double engine government, PM Modi emphasized that this would provide greater advantages to farmers and eliminate the role of middlemen. If this plan is implemented, it could lead to economic benefits for the farmers.

Will farmers across the country get Rs 9,000?

No, farmers nationwide will not receive Rs 9,000 under the PM Kisan Yojana; they will continue to get Rs 6,000 annually as they have been. As PM Modi mentioned, the state and the Centre will jointly provide Rs 9,000 to the farmers of West Bengal. In this scenario, the state government may offer an additional Rs 3,000 each year.

Is the 23rd installment coming this time?
