8th Pay Commission: Central employees are looking forward to the recommendations from the Eighth Pay Commission. The Commission has a period of 18 months to present its recommendations to the government. With this timeline in mind, the Pay Commission has initiated a series of meetings. In this regard, they have published the schedule for upcoming meetings in Hyderabad, Srinagar, and Ladakh.

It’s important to mention that the Pay Commission has already conducted meetings in Dehradun and Delhi. The aim of these gatherings is to engage with stakeholders, government organizations, institutions, and employee unions/associations regarding Pay Commission matters. These meetings are set to take place in May and June 2026. Interested individuals will need to first submit a memorandum on the official website of the 8th Pay Commission and then arrange an appointment with the Commission. When and where is the meeting scheduled to occur?

According to the timetable, the Pay Commission will be in Hyderabad, Telangana on May 18 and 19, 2026 (Monday and Tuesday). The 8th Pay Commission has indicated that interested parties should submit their memorandum on the official website of the Pay Commission and arrange an appointment by May 8, 2026, along with a unique memo ID. Additionally, the Pay Commission will be visiting Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir (UT) from June 1 to June 4, 2026 (Monday to Thursday). Organizations, institutions, and unions/associations that wish to engage with the Commission in Srinagar must submit their memorandum and appointment requests before May 16, 2026.

The Pay Commission will also be in the Union Territory of Ladakh on Monday, June 8, 2026. Relevant stakeholders from Central Government organizations/institutions and unions/associations located in Ladakh can submit their memorandums and request appointments before May 16, 2026. Furthermore, the Pay Commission will conduct separate meetings in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and in various cities across other States/Union Territories (UTs) at suitable times. The Commission will also hold additional meetings in cities in other States/UTs as necessary.

This deadline has been extended

 

In the meantime, the Pay Commission has pushed back the deadline for submitting memorandums from April 30, 2026, to Sunday, May 31, 2026. The Eighth Pay Commission for central government employees was established last year. The Pay Commission launched its website in February of this year. All updates from the Pay Commission can be accessed through the website. The recommendations from the Pay Commission are anticipated to be put into effect starting January 1, 2026.
