PF KYC Update: If your PF account’s KYC isn’t up to date, your PF claim could be denied. The EPFO checks your PF records against Aadhaar data. Even a tiny mismatch in your name, date of birth, or gender can lead to a claim rejection. By updating your KYC now, you can avoid any hassles when you want to withdraw money later. Plus, you can easily update your PF KYC online from home. EPF members can modify their essential KYC details like name, date of birth, and gender through the UAN Member Portal.
How to update PF KYC?
1. Log in to the Unified Member Portal using your UAN and password.
2. Go to Modify Basic Details in the Manage section.
3. Enter the correct Name, DOB, and Gender as per Aadhaar (the system will auto-verify with UIDAI).
4. Click on Update Details. You’ll see the status “Pending for Employer Approval.”
5. Your employer will log in and approve it online, which will update your PF KYC.
Employer approval is not needed for bank details
While most KYC changes require employer approval, bank details do not. If your UAN is active and linked to Aadhaar, you can update your bank account and IFSC on your own by going to the Manage KYC section. However, corrections to your name, DOB, and gender will need employer approval.
Keep these things in mind:
Your Aadhaar must be linked to your UAN.
Have your Aadhaar, PAN, and bank passbook ready.
You can track the status by going to Manage-KYC-Digitally Approved KYC.
