Passport Rule: There is a major update for passport holders. In India, people living here need to have many documents. These include documents like Aadhar card, PAN card, voter card, ration card, driving license and passport. There are some documents which are very important and there is no replacement for them.

For example, if you have to travel abroad, you will definitely need a passport. There is no other option. In India, passports are issued by the Ministry of External Affairs. Recently, the government has made a big change in the rules regarding passports. Now if any husband and wife want to get their names added in the passport, then this document will be required for that.

Marriage certificate will not be required

Earlier, if a husband and wife wanted to get their names added in the passport, they had to go through a long process. And they also had to submit their marriage certificate. In such a situation, when a passport was needed to go abroad for a job or any other reason, the husband and wife had to face difficulties. Getting a marriage certificate is still not that common in India.

If we talk about states like UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, even today marriage certificate is not given much importance here, due to which when people here have to add the name of their life partner in the passport, they have to face a lot of trouble, but now the Government of India has abolished the requirement of marriage certificate.

The Ministry of External Affairs has abolished the requirement of marriage certificate to add the name of your spouse in the passport after marriage. For this, the self-declaration certificate has now been recognized. Now people will get the option of Annexure J.
