UIDAI has shifted all Aadhaar-related services to a digital platform. No longer will anyone need to visit an enrollment center or government office for Aadhaar card updates, verification, or PAN linking. This move will save time and make the process more transparent.
Update and Verify Aadhaar from Home
Anyone can now update their name, address, date of birth, or mobile number by visiting the UIDAI website. Valid documents such as a PAN card, passport, ration card, or driving license will be required. This facility allows citizens across the country to easily update their details from the comfort of their homes, eliminating long queues and delays.
New Deadline for PAN-Aadhaar Linking
The government has set a new deadline for linking PAN and Aadhaar as December 31, 2025. If the linking is not completed by this date, the PAN card will be deactivated. Additionally, Aadhaar card verification will now be mandatory for those applying for a new PAN card. This step is aimed at curbing tax evasion and strengthening the identification system.
Online KYC Process Made Easy and Secure
UIDAI has also improved the digital KYC process. Banks and other financial institutions can now verify customer identity through Aadhaar OTP, video KYC, or in-person verification. This makes the identification process faster, safer, and more transparent. This feature will further facilitate digital transactions in the banking and finance sector.
